Big Pike hit the Lures!

The water is clearing and Chew Valley is filling - at last!
And what's more, the big pike are now hitting the lures as well as we soon found out!

On Monday I was guiding Rob Johnson and Paul Mersh - 2 very experienced predator anglers experiencing Chew Valley for the first time.
We had a great day.  Rob's first fish was a stunning 22lb 12oz fish that smashed into his soft plastic lure.  Then it was Paul's turn as he hooked into a 15lb fish on another soft plastic.
As the day went on, Rob had another fish of 17lbs and one of 15lbs plus a couple of jacks.  Paul also had another smaller fish and I added a few to the melting pot - figuratively speaking that is!  The first weighed 16lbs 8ozs, then another at 17lbs 8ozs and finally my best of the day at exactly 23lbs.

All 10 fish took lures on the drift - what a brilliant way to fish - beats staring at a float all day, that's for sure!

I'm out again this week so I'll update my blog again soon.
